Shipping, Loading & Packaging

  • Assist shipping personnel with daily loading and unloading operations.

  • Help prepare products for shipment, including packaging, wrapping, blocking, bracing, and protecting finished surfaces.
  • Assist with loading large fabricated assemblies using appropriate lifting and material handling equipment.
  • Verify products are properly secured and protected before transportation.
  • Assist with staging finished goods and organizing outbound shipments.
  • Work with production and shipping teams to ensure materials and finished products are ready for scheduled pickups and deliveries.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment when trained and authorized.

Equipment, Safety & Compliance

  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers.
  • Maintain vehicles, trailers, and transportation equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.
  • Report mechanical concerns and coordinate necessary maintenance.
  • Follow applicable DOT, FMCSA, and Texas transportation regulations.
  • Ensure oversized loads are properly permitted and comply with applicable routing and travel restrictions.
  • Inspect and maintain chains, binders, straps, and other cargo securement equipment.
  • Maintain accurate transportation documentation, inspection reports, and delivery records.
  • Follow all Ameritex safety procedures and policies.

General Operations Support

  • Assist the shipping, receiving, warehouse, and production departments when not actively driving.
  • Help organize and prepare finished products for shipment.
  • Support material handling, inventory movement, and general logistics activities.
  • Assist with facility and equipment moves as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by management.

This position is expected to remain productive throughout the workday, whether performing deliveries, preparing shipments, assisting with loading, or supporting other operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to climb onto trailers and access cargo securement points safely.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical shipping and loading activities.
  • Ability to work outdoors and inside industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to perform required vehicle inspections and material handling tasks.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Full-time, year-round employment.
