EXCAVATOR OPERATOR

Mount Gilead, NC | Full-Time | $21–$24/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable Excavator Operator with plumbing installation experience to support new construction projects. This role is responsible for operating excavation equipment and assisting with underground plumbing installations in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators for trenching, grading, and backfilling.
• Assist with underground plumbing installations, including piping, layout, and connections.
• Read blueprints and follow site plans.
• Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance.
• Follow all required safety procedures and OSHA standards.
• Work collaboratively with the team to complete jobs on time.
• Assist with general labor as needed.

QualificationsRequired

• 2+ years of excavator operating experience.
• Mini-excavator experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and layouts.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physical labor.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.

Preferred

• Plumbing installation or underground utility experience.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to safely operate excavation equipment for trenching, grading, and backfilling.
• Ability to understand and follow blueprints, layouts, and site plans.
• Ability to support underground plumbing installation work.
• Ability to perform basic equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team.
• Strong reliability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to perform physical labor as required by the position.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work on fast-paced construction sites.

Compensation

• $21–$24 per hour, based on experience.
• Full-time position.
